Rose

Some say love, it is a river
That drowns, the tender reed.
Some say love, it is a razor
That leaves your soul to bleed.

Some say love, it is a hunger,
An Endless aching need.
I say love. it is a flower,
and you it's only seed.

It's the heart, afraid of breaking,
That never, learns to dance.
It's the dream, afraid of waking,
that never takes the chance.

It's the one who won't be taken
who cannot seem to give
And the soul, afraid of dying
That never learns to live

When the night has been too lonely,
and the road has been too long,
and you think that love is only,
for the lucky and the strong.
Just remember in the winter,
far beneath the bitter snows.

Lies the seed,
That with the sun's love,
In the spring,
Becomes the Rose.

Breathe

You were my all,
You were my everything,
You needed me like water,
You needed me to breathe.

I gave you my heart,
I gave you the best of me,
But the closer I became,
The less I could see .

Now it stares at me,
Like my reflection,
It's who I wanna be,
Not who I was.

I want to Breathe again,
I want to Dream again,
Want something beautiful,
To make it all meaningful,
I want to be.

I know your pain,
It kills me to break you,
But I'm waking up ,
and the sky is still blue.

Letting go,
Doesn't always mean your fall,
my story book is better off with pages still unwritten,
but it stares at me,
like my reflection,
The truth you see .

All of the years,
that we were together,
our love was for real,
nothing compares,
Just the hardest part is,
admitting I'm better without you.

We lost ourselves,
to doubt and delusion,
and we couldn't see,
cause we sank to the bottom ,
but I reached to the surface before it could washed me away.

I want to Breathe Again,
I want to Dream again,
want something beautiful,
to make it all meaningful .

I want to dare to live
Give me to chance to give
All that I have to life
All that I am

Nineteen

I'm tired of playing the part,
Of a little boy who, can't use his heart.
I'm broken, torn and scarred,
From all the poison , you threw at him.

But you won't know, cause you can't see,
the tattered child, you've made of me.

You'll follow me, into my dreams
And spit your words, so desperately.
I'll wash my hands of this tragic mess.
And truth can't cure the blind, if they don't care to see,

Nineteen years inside this flesh,
I fought through pain, I've paid my dues,
But that's still not enough for you.
So where do we go from here?
You won't keep me trapped in my fears.

You're sinking in, your selfishness.
We're tainted by, words left unsaid.

Did you even notice, the look in my eyes,
When I spoke of her for the very first time?
And do you remember, when you were my age?
Do you remember at all?

Don't follow me into my dreams,
And spit your words so viciously,
I'll wash my hands of this tragic mess.

But truth can't cure the blind,
I wish you'd change your mind,
But you don't care to see.
